Wasn't the "is" on facebook supposed to disappear last week? Or was it just a dream?
I'm more and more amazed that so many people are still watching news on Fox. That being said, i also believe that Fox is on purpose taking this angle, not because of political belief, but because this is what appeals to a good % of the US population and therefore people are watching them.
I don't think Murdoch or someone else there said: we're republican, let's support the republican and let's make it obvious and unfair. I think they did some market research and realized that there was a huge audience in the US who wanted to hear news from that angle.
News corp is an amazing marketing machine, able to market news, sports, music, teenagers... anything they want. Quite impressive in a way.
Check out this article which inspired this thought of the day :)
It's quite cool actually. You get to see the city in a very different way.
Part of the exercise last sunday was to anchor. The weather was actually a bit rough, and we anchored in a very exposed area for lunch. After 20 minutes, all of us on the boat were very close to be sick and we had to hoist the sails to find an area a more pleasant.
Nevertheless, sailing rocks. It takes your mind off the daily things, and give you a great feeling of freedom and nature. Love it!
This is a huge news in France. Johnny Hallyday, the French rock legend, announced that his last tour will be his last! OK, i can already see the skeptic among you: what? French had rock? All right. Let's put it that way, in the 60s, at a time when nobody in France was speaking English, and when Elvis, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis and others were rocking the US, Johnny Hallyday emerged. Most of his popular songs at the time were french versions of the big english/american hits (mainly the house of the rising sun which then became le penitencier).
In a nutshell, he was the Elvis of France with the same passion for the stage and live performance. Imagine what Elvis would be today if he were still alive!
At 64, he says he doesn't want to be pathetic. Honestly, i think he should have fine tuned his style with the years, but he never did. If you look at his concerts (which i don't necessarily recommend!) today, they're very similar to 20 years ago. But, he captured a huge loyal audience by being who he was.
It's a sad day for France since he's a real symbol there. Actually, i was trying to think of a similar symbol for the US, and i couldn't really find anyone. I'm sure it's just because of my lack of history and culture in the US, but this also tells how influential, important and strong Johnny Hallyday is for France.
Now, will he really say goodbye?

This is our final week-end for our Basic Cruising certification (well, that is if we pass...). After that, we will be able to take passengers with us in the San Francisco Bay.
We've already subscribed to the Bareboat certification, which is the next level. Before that, we have to sail for 10 days. Yes, 10 days... That's a very long time... We'll do it. We'll take our time, but we'll do it!
